Method 1

Download the Spyaxe uninstaller from the site http://www.spyaxe.com/uninstall/uninstallers.zip .

Extract the file "illegal_adv_uninstall1.exe" to your desktop or your HDD using WinZip. Execute the program by double-clicking with your mouse. Nothing special happens when you run the program (you don't even see it run) and you'll think nothing ran, but just Reboot your PC and issue will be resolved .

 

Method 2 - Manual Removal Method

Boot to Windows Normally. Download the Softwares below:

1) smitRem Fix - http://noahdfear.geekstogo.com/click%20counter/click.php?id=1 

2) CCleaner

3) AdawareSE

4) Hijack This

Install the above software's and update the necessary definitions.

Run CCleaner to Clean all crap files from the system.

Uninstall SpyAxe from Add/Remove Programs.

Boot into Safe mode using f8. Run regedit and Delete each folder where “Spyaxe” and "smitRem" has an entry in the registry

(***DO NOT DELETE THE KEY BUT THE FOLDER***).

Search for Spyaxe in C: drive ( Make sure Search in Hidden Folders and System Files option is selected ). Delete all files found.

Close all other programs and windows.

Double click on the smitRem Fix file to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.
Open the "smitRem" folder, then double click the "RunThis.bat" file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.  Your desktop and icons will disappear and then reappear again --- this is normal. Wait for the tool to complete and Disk Cleanup to finish --- this may take a while.

Run Adaware Scan and remove any infections left.

Last Run HijackThis to restore the browser settings.

Reboot in Normal Mode the System should be Spyaxe Free. Remember to update the virus and Antispyware definations and turn Auto Protect ON.
