How I Set Up a Home File Server For Free - A Review of FreeNAS
Home file server... a dedicated computer used just storage and sharing of our files. My research found a ton of products available that would do the job. There are several dedicated Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices that I could purchase, but even the cheapest ones are still several hundred US dollars. Then there is the server software. Microsoft has its Windows Storage Server software that is also several hundred US dollars. There is also many different Linux solutions that require a working knowledge of the linux file system and command line.
In the end I settled on a free product called FreeNAS. As the title suggests, FreeNAS is free network attached storage software, but that is not all. It also has numerous features that make it extremely easy to set up, manage and expand. Plus it has features that allow you to use it as a media server for various devices. Since its hardware requirement is very minimal, this seemed like an ideal product for me to use.

Best IE8 Look Like Theme for Mozilla Firefox
Mozilla Firefox is one of the most popular web browsers but there are many Firefox users who always complain about its GUI. Mozilla has not worked much on Firefox interface. Its almost same since ages and doesn't fit with Windows Vista and 7's Aero theme.
On the other hand, Internet Explorer looks excellent with the Glass theme

Simplify file management with the XCopy Tool
The XCopy command has risen from the ashes of deprecation to save you time and make your file management tasks easier. This tool automates the process for XP, Vista, and Windows 7.
If you needed to copy hundreds of files from one local hard disk to another or from one system to another across a network, would you perform the operation from Windows Explorer? Possibly. However, if you wanted to do something fancy, such as copy only those files that have changed on or after a certain date or maybe copy only those files that have the archive bit set, performing the operation in Windows Explorer would be time consuming and difficult. So you’d probably shell out to a Command Prompt window and use the good old DOS-based XCopy command, along with its detailed set of switches.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The modern workplace is an emotionally charged landscape of constant threats and unconscious fears that can addle or even destroy our brainpower, according to three recent books on neuroscience.
The flow of brain chemicals triggered by common workplace experiences -- feedback session, anyone? -- can erode our ability to think straight, harming productivity and diminishing our capacity to solve problems or work well with others

Building a Home File Server
Setting up a file server doesn't need to be complicated.
With three desktop machines (Kubuntu, Win XP and a testbed, which is currently running ReactOS) and a laptop (Xubuntu) in use at home, our IT is reaching small office proportions, and like many small offices, we run into file sharing problems. Peer-to-peer networking is fine when all the machines are on, but inevitably it happens that the file I want is on a PC that isn't running. Even worse, it be on my testbed machine that is currently in pieces or undergoing yet another upgrade. So, we need an always-on server that any of us can access any time, but if it is always on, it needs to be quiet, reliable and cheap to run.
