• Before beginning with these steps, please take a moment to turn off any anti-virus software you have running.
  • Disable Norton Firewall before downloading and running the TotalAccess installation file.
  1. Click the Install button.

  3. Take a moment to read the Service Agreement.
     
  4. Click the I Accept button.

  5. Click the Next button.

  6. Check the box next to Make TotalAccess MailBox my default email program if you would like  TotalAccess MailBox to be your default email program.
     
  7. Check the box next to Install EarthLink Accelerator if you would like to install EarthLink Accelerator.
     
  8. Click the Next button.

  9. Click the Continue button.

  10. Click the Restart button.

  11. The computer will now restart. Wait a few minutes for the computer to finish restarting and then continue to the next step.
     
  12. Select Dial-up Modem.
     
  13. Click the Next button.

  14. Click the arrow box on the State/province drop-down list and choose the state you are dialing from.
     
  15. In the Phone # you will be dialing from field, type the phone number you are dialing from.
     
  16. Click the Next button.

  17. If your location requires you to dial a number before dialing a phone number, place a check in the Dial __ for an outside line box and enter the number(s) necessary to dial an outside line. Include a comma at the end to tell the computer to pause and give the phone system time to respond. This is commonly needed in some offices or hotels, which often require you to dial a 9 to get an outside line.
     
  18. If you would like to disable call waiting while you are online, place a check in the Dial ____ to turn off call waiting box and enter the numbers that are required to turn off call waiting. In most areas, this will be *70. Again, include a comma after the digits you need to enter to give the phone system time to respond. Contact your local telephone company if you are unsure of the proper procedure.
     
  19. Check the box next to Dial the Area Code (10 digit dialing) if your area requires you to dial 10 digits when placing a phone call.
     
  20. Click the Next button.

  21. Select Yes, I already have an EarthLink email address.
     
  22. Click the Next button.

  23. In the Email field, type the portion of your EarthLink email address before the @ symbol (e.g., johndoe).
     
  24. Click the arrow box on the drop-down list and choose the portion of your EarthLink email address after the @ symbol (e.g, earthlink.net).
     
  25. In the Password field, type your password.
     
  26. Click the Next button.

  27. Choose 2 or more access numbers in the list to connect to EarthLink. Highlight the number and click the Add button to choose. The list of chosen numbers will appear in the bottom box.
  28. Click the Next button.

    Note: TotalAccess will contact the EarthLink registration servers to retrieve your account information. This may take a moment. The process is complete when TotalAccess displays the Account Summary screen. Click the Go Online button to go online now.

  29. Click the Exit button.
