Registry Hack For Disabling Content Advisor in Windows XP
On the Desktop, click Start and select Run from the menu.
In the Open field of the Run dialogue box, enter regedit.
Click OK.
The Registry Editor opens.
To the left there is a column with tech tree. Each main branch of the tech tree is known as a hive. You can double click a hive to expand it and view its sub-menu.
Double click the hive HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE to expand its menu.
Locate and double click Software to expand its menu.
Locate and double click Microsoft to expand its menu.
Locate and double click Windows to expand its menu.
Locate and double click CurrentVersion to expand its menu.
Locate and double click policies to expand its menu.
Locate and double click Ratings to expand its menu.
Locate and double click .Default to expand its menu.
To the right you'll see a value labeled Enabled.
Right click the Enabled value and select Modify from the menu.
The following window appears:
Value data has two states: enabled and disabled. "1" denotes that it is enabled, while "0" denotes that it is disabled. We need to disable it.
Value data = enter "0" for the value.
Click OK to close the window and then close the Registry Editor.
The Content Advisor is now disabled and you can surf the Internet. You do not need to reboot.
